County cricket: Warwickshire v Nottinghamshire – live!

Morning all it’s the morning call!

Well hello! It’s a new week. Fairly glad to bid farewell the last one, frankly. Anyone fancy joining me in New Zealand to do Plunkett Shield – live! Seems the only sensible course of action.

So I’ve started this new week in Birmingham, which is alright I guess. We had an aborted but excellent day’s cricket here, with Boyd Rankin bowling beautifully and simply being too good for Nottinghamshire. I’m currently watching Peter Moores put their fielders through their paces. Looks fun, but they’re not that good at it. Billy Root is among them, interestingly, and Michael Lumb has just done a celebratory lap of the ground. You’d think it would have stopped being funny halfway, but no, apparently not.

Anyway, there’s other cricket elsewhere! Anyone at a ground? I notice a slightly delayed start in the day’s only new game – Gloucester’s visit to Leicester (no toss, hosts to have a jam roll), while Sam Northeast resumes many not out against Derbyshire.

In Div One, Lanky are looking to build on a great start at Lord’s, while Zummerzet are in a fine position at the Ageas Bowl.

Enjoy the cricket – please keep chatting away BTL! (Comments are very good things).
